System and Hardware Monitoring

Task Marx is a Windows hardware and systems utility. With Task Marx you can monitor and even test your system and hardware to check for stability and performance issues. It provides real time information and stats for your CPU, GPU, RAM, STORAGE, Windows PROCESSES and more. Not only can you obtain information and stats on your system, but you can also run 4 different CPU benchmarks and a RAM stability test.

Widget

Task Marx also offers users the ability to build custom Widgets/Overlays. Users can select from a wide range of different hardware stats to include in their widgets/overlays. You can run multiple widgets at once and can change things like text size, color, background transparency and more. When gaming in windowed mode or borderless mode these widgets can be used as in game hardware detail overlays, allowing you to see how your hardware is performing during your gaming sessions.

The widgets/overlays including the FPSS (Frames Per Second Seen) widget, will work for games in Fullscreen exclusive mode, but may not be visible. If you have 2 monitors or more, you could have the widgets located on 1 of your other monitors where they will still work as intended. Also note the FPSS Widget requires a decent amount of activity on your screen to be able to count the frame rate, within the limit of the refresh rate of your monitor. It is designed to be able to be used with anything even if the game or application is CPU rendered and not GPU rendered.

The entire application along with the widgets are CPU driven, therefore there is no GPU requirement to run this software. Allowing for greater compatibility with older systems and older games. But it works just as well with newer games.

Functionality

  • CPU Benchmarks - (4 Different Benchmarks)
  • RAM - (RAM Stress test, RAM usage + Per Dimm Details)
  • GPU - (GPU Hardware Details & GPU Sensors + Multi GPU Support)
  • Processes - (Details of all processes running + extra features)
  • Sensors - (List all hardware sensors we can access)
  • Widgets/Overlays - (Create desktop widgets that feed live sensor details)

The software works pretty well, the UI could be improved, but I was able to see all my CPU information live which included temps which was nice, Windows could learn a few things.

The addition of the RAM test is very cool and suprisingly doesnt take too long, it managed to full all 32gbs of my memory pretty quickly and didnt find any write and read errors :)

The GPU control with the Screen Refresh rate tester isnt bad, I think it could be layed out better.

The processes control is basically the details tab in windows task manager

The Sensors control is very helpful, it gives me all the sensor and usage information for all my PC hardware components all live.

The ability to create your own widgets and overlays from the list of hardware sensors and stats is great, super helpful when you gaming and you want your hardware usage and info in realtime. The Frames per second widget, took me a few minutes to figure out but it basically counts how many frames per second you are getting but it works only when there is stuff happening on your screen.
